So this is a “new age” sort of instrument. It apparently can do just about anything the artist would like. I’m not quite convinced on the sound quality quite yet (could be due to sound quality of video) and the instrument may need some work to actually be the future of music. However, I think the concept is awesome and one of these would be a lot of fun to play around with. This is how the Eigenharp website describes their instrument: “A professional level instrument which allows the musician to play and improvise using a limitless range of sounds with virtuoso skill. The unique design of the keys makes this the most expressive electronic musical instrument ever made. The Alpha can play and record loops, change scale and key, transpose, alter tempo, program beats, create arrangements, switch and layer multiple sounds, all while the musician is performing live on stage.” Sounds good to me. Check it out and leave a comment about what you think.

This is awesome. Period.
Carl Gibbs – hardcore!
So my friend Mr. Carl Gibbs had to do a project for one of his classes. Obviously he did hardcore parkour. This turned out hilarious. I think he has a career in free running ahead of him. And the music on the video is Test Your Might by another friend of mine S-Preme. If you have yet to download his latest mixtape – The Sicktape Vol. 2 – you should do so now. The link is at the below the video. Enjoy!
Mr. John Mayer is at it again and kills it with this new album, Battle Studies. I’ve listened through it several times now and I enjoy every song on the track list. Shout out to John Mayer and all the great music he keeps creating. A few of my favorite tracks are linked to youtube at the bottom of this post. Enjoy.
Crossroads <—- I like this song because it’s funky. At least I think it is…
Wale – Attention Deficit
the great misdirect
While this is isn’t directly my favorite style of music I do enjoy it and respect Between the Buried and Me for the music they create. This album is composed of only 6 songs but they’re lengthy and put together well. We, as Eternal Youth being extremely avid supporters of music, want to give a shout out and our support to BTBAM for their latest album, “The Great Misdirect.”

-Is there anything in this world shared by all? One common factor that holds us all together? A part of all of us that has the ability to bind us all in one unified world? While I’m sure many of you could answer those questions with something that you believe in, for the benefit of this topic I’ll use a common topic that is believed by the majority of people on the Earth that the most common goal to unify us all is peace. Peace will bring equality, which will of course, lead to a war-free, “all-caring” world. There is only one slight…well actually it’s not so slight. It’s actually a pretty large problem. The problem being how we will get there. How do we achieve this perfectly serene world? Through peace, at least peace as the stand alone goal, we cannot. Peace is and always will be far too hard to obtain. There are just too many view points on “peace” and how to reach it. There are too many forms of government and too many insecure, power-hungry, know-it-alls who try to run the show. But enough about peace and government whatnot. I’m not a politician and I don’t plan on being one. My views on the way the political world runs are probably quite ignorant and that doesn’t bother me a bit. So back to the point. Is there that one ultimate binding factor that can link us all together? I believe, with every ounce of certainty I can withhold, that music is the one power that can embrace us all with unity. Music! Music has been around for…well, practically forever if I may be so bold as to use the word forever. Music is used for basically everything you could ever possibly imagine. Music flows through us. Moves us. Brings us to life. Completes us. If you’re anything like I am, music is a very large part of your life. My iPod has a very large array of artists and types of music that I’m sure anyone could pick it up and find something they enjoy. The music ranges from classical to very heavy metal. I’d have to admit that the only branch of music that hasn’t been on my iPod is that of Opera. Not that I dislike Opera music or anything negative. It’s just not my cup of tea when it comes to everyday listening. If I don’t get what I consider to be a healthy dose of music each day it can actually make me quite cranky. But enough about me and my obsession with what I feel is the most passionate form of art. How can music unite us all? Easy. Everyone has music in common. Find someone that says that they dislike all forms of music and you’ve officially found the biggest liar in the world. It’s not possible. Eventually everyone hears the sound that makes their feet tap with the beat. In every part of the world there is some form of music. And the best part is, it comes naturally. Music was “invented.” It’s a feeling inside of us all. The sounds of any instrument, defined by me as anything that makes a sound, put together in any sort of rhythm is one of the most natural blessings of this world. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what you believe. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, how powerful or popular you are. Any order of randomly assigned societal or inheritable traits has no pull on this subject. Everyone has music. Everyone is united through sound. Through MUSIC.
-Well because this is my first post on anything like this I’ll stop there and allow it all to sink in. More posts on my love for music and what I believe it can achieve will be coming soon. And feel free to leave your opinions in the comments section. Rip me and my opinions apart it you’d like. I’m always up for criticism or a good argument. Now go forth, listen, and be united.
